In Goldilocks, we can see exactly what not to act like. Join us today as Ruby retells the story of Goldilocks and the Three Bears, along with a new song to go with it!

Who wrote Goldilocks and the Three Bears?

English poet Robert Southey wrote Goldilocks almost 200 years ago! Today it is one of the most popular fairytales, told all over the world!

What can we learn from the Goldilocks story?

The Goldilocks story teaches us how dangerous it is to invade other peoples’ space. It’s never a good idea to go wandering into someone’s house, especially if the house is owned by a family of bears!

This doesn’t mean that we shouldn’t explore and try new things. But be careful and appropriate, doing things that are kind and safe instead of selfish and dangerous!

In this story, we also find in the troublemaking of Goldilocks how important balance is. Which meant finding what is “just right” for us all. For Goldilocks, that might mean finding a comfy chair, bed, or a nice cup of porridge that isn’t too hot or cold. For Ruby, that meant even doing a small thing like finding herself a new pair of glasses that were just right for her. In our lives, that might mean doing things in life that are right for us, like finding something we like to do or places we like to be.
